Capital letters are marked with a capital sign, and runs of digits with a number sign, following English Braille conventions. Output uses the standard Unicode braille cells, so it can be copied anywhere that displays them.

Is this contracted (Grade 2) braille?
No. This is Grade 1, where every letter is spelled out. Grade 2 uses contractions for common words and letter groups.
Why did my parentheses come back as an opening bracket?
English braille uses one cell for both round brackets, so the original side cannot be recovered when decoding.
Which characters are supported?
Letters, digits, spaces, and common punctuation — comma, semicolon, colon, period, exclamation mark, question mark, apostrophe, hyphen, and brackets.
